Reflection

Wouldn't life be very sad if we cared for nobody, except ourselves, our Christian story links us with all those we meet along lifes journey.  Genuine love gives -meaning to our lives, but as we know relationships are never free from disagreements, faults and hurts.  Neither should our relationships be without the debt we owe to love one another.  In our gospel Jesus shows us that we have a responsibility towards each other.  We show great love when we take the time to correct each other, but it must be said that accepting correction, positive criticism is never easy it takes' great maturity.  Today we are often told that love means you never impose your values on or have any expectation for the other.  The exact opposite is the truth.  True love demands that we speak out and stand up for what we believe is true and good.  We are no friend if we simply watch as- people go down paths that lead to destruction.  If parents didn't take time to correct their children what kind of society would we have?  Love demands that we take risks because we value the other and o ' ur relationships.  We fail God and fail each other in all sorts of ways and times.  Let us come back to God with all our hearts through the sacrament of reconcilation.  The debt of our credit cards must be paid once a month.  The debts of love we owe to one another come each day.  None of us can afford to miss a payment.
