Convent Chapel, Bandon Town

The Presentation Convent was opened on the 12^th May 1829. The first Superioress was Sr. Mary John O’Neill. Nano Nagle founded the Presentation order. The sisters in Bandon have been engaged in providing education for girls down through the years and also involved in many societies and religious organisations in Bandon parish as well as helping out in the many activities of the parish. 

Many additions, including a lovely chapel, have been added to the convent over the years. In 1991, a large purpose built secondary school was built at the southern side at Ard Aoibhinn, called Colaiste na Toirbhirte. In 1952, a foundation from Bandon was established at San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A.
