100 years of the Corpus Christi Procession 1926-2026

This year the Cork city will celebrate 100 years of the Corpus Christi Procession. In preparation for this milestone event, a two week diocesan mission will take place. Young people of Cork and Ross will join with a mission team from Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) to form a joint Mission Team. Together they will visit schools and parishes, speak at Masses, and animate “Light Fever” moments in the lead up to the procession.

The relics of Saint Carlo will visit the diocese and a hour hour adoration of the Blessed sacrament will take place during this momentous celebration of 100 years of the Corpus Christi Procession.

The Corpus Christi procession in Bandon will defer until next year to allow for our parishioners the opportunity to participate in the once in a lifetime event in the diocese.

A new initiative for Bandon Parish- the Diocese of Cork and Ross have chosen Bandon Parish to be one of the Pilot Parishes to use the TAP 2 DONATE as part of the Mass Collections.

The TAP 2 DONATE will enable people to make a secure donation with the tap of a debit/credit card or smart phone any time when the Church is open.

The payment point is at the entrance door of St Patrick’s Church. The donations will go towards the Masses Offertory Collections.

The Offertory Collections finance the upkeep and maintenance of the Churches in Bandon Parish – this includes lighting, heating, salaries, insurance, upkeep of cemeteries, liturgical supplies, necessary supplies and repairs and much more that is needed to allow our parish to continue to serve the congregation while providing a welcoming and safe environment for all who visit.

To use the TAP 2 DONATE system:

1. Choose from one of the pre-set amounts or choose your own amount.
2. insert your card and enter your PIN OR present your card or smartphone to the contactless symbol and tap

3. Wait for the on-screen confirmation.

St Patrick’s Church is equipped with a web camera to Livestream our Masses and other ceremonies. We use the services of Church Services Tv to livestream and connect with our parishioners at home and abroad. As our camera is connected to WIFI and livestreams our Masses on the internet we updated our GDPR policy
